Each piece of the Jeep went through several steps to create a smooth surface.

1. Each piece was ground to the metal (or Fiberglass)
2. A thin layer of Bondo was applied and sanded back down to the metal (or Fiberglass). This was done 2 to 3 different times.
3. A very thin layer of 3M Green Spot Putty was applied and sanded once with 320 grit and then applied again and wet sanded with 400.
4. Two coats of primer were sprayed and wet sanded with 400 and then another coat was sprayed and wet sanded with 600
5. Two Base coats of Guards Red (Porsche red) was applied
6. The first 2 coats of Dupont Chroma Base Clear was sprayed and then wet sanded with 600
7. This is followed by 6 more coats of Clear, wet sanded in between each with 1500 grit paper

The picture on the bottom-right is what the product looks like right before primer.
It doesn't look it, .. but it's smooth as glass.
