The original dash knobs.

I measured each of them
for threading.
|
These are "Black Chrome"
knobs I found that actually are made to go on kitchen cabinet doors. I
thought they were cool and decided to find a way to make them fit on each
of my dash knobs.

On some of the shafts,
grinding
was necessary to get the
shaft to
the right circumference......
|
Then I put them in a
vise and
re-threaded to the right
thread
size & pattern of the
existing knob....
|
it worked quite well.
Then, for
these, I just screw the knob
on
the existing Jeep hardware.

Other knobs had a small
set screw
the screwed in the side of
the knob.
I re-drilled the knob to
the
correct size of the shaft........

..and cut a notch in
the side of the knob...
drilled a hole for the set
screw...
tapped the hole for the correct
threads...
and screwed the new set screw
in.
